A POLEGATE man living with cancer has completed an amazing challenge for St Wilfrid’s Hospice in Eastbourne.
Alan Farley said: “I am going to walk 5k every day for 5 days for St Wilfrid’s Hospice (Eastbourne) Ltd because the help and support they provide is priceless.”
And he has completed the challenge.
So far he has raised £2000.
Alan said: “I have lived in Polegate with my wife, Elaine and our family for over 35 years. You will often see me out walking with my wife, our dogs and often our grandchildren too.
“A few years ago I was diagnosed with cancer and I am now on my second round of chemotherapy. I, like many others fighting cancer have received amazing support from St Wilfrid’s Hospice, a charity that has become very dear to me.
“I want to do my bit so they can go on to support others like me. To do this, I have set myself the challenge of walking 5k a day for 5 days starting on the 14 October. This will allow me to complete my challenge between doses of chemo.”
