THE closed Esperance Hospital in Eastbourne town centre will soon be turned into 45 new homes.
SHW Development Consultancy has confirmed the site is ‘now sold for conversion to 45 apartments for the rental market.’
It describes the site as ‘another significant sale for residential redevelopment in the heart of Eastbourne.
“The Esperance Hospital has been sold and the new owner will repurpose this historic site for much needed housing.”
It closed as a hospital in the summer of 2019.
The hospital in Hartington Place provided healthcare for NHS-funded, insured and private patients.
It provided a number of services, including joint replacements and general medicine as well as a fertility service.
