51 more homeless people have moved from Brighton to Eastbourne in recent weeks.
They are being placed in Eastbourne hotels by Brighton and Hove City Council.
Eastbourne MP Caroline Ansell said yesterday: “Brighton needs to work with Eastbourne as a matter of urgency and I hope this will now happen.”
She said what Brighton and Hove City Council is doing ‘is continuing to cause real concern.”
Caroline raised this with PM Boris at Prime Minister’s Questions on Wednesday.
She said Brighton council is not engaging with our council ‘in any meaningful way.’
Three homeless Brighton people have died in Eastbourne.
On Friday, we reported that councillors in Eastbourne are set to make an official plea for Brighton and Hove City Council to stop placing “large numbers” of homeless and vulnerable people in the town.
