Age Concern Eastbourne is celebrating its 75th anniversary this Friday, 27th Oct, at its Resource Centre in the middle of Eastbourne, the William and Patricia Venton Centre.

To mark the occasion, they will be holding an open day from 10 am through to 5pm when people can come and be entertained by local musicians, amateur dramatics and dance.

There will be an exhibition of photographs and artefacts of Eastbourne over the last 80 years and paintings referencing Eastbourne and the surrounding area made by our art group.

The Deputy Lieutenant of Sussex will be planting a cherry tree in the new community garden – a piece of scrub land outside the Venton Centre which has been reclaimed by the staff and volunteers of Age Concern Eastbourne.

Later, the Mayor of Eastbourne, will be cutting a celebratory cake and they will be announcing the continuation of the Men’s shed project which has just had a further five years funding from the National Lottery.
