DOCTORS in Polegate have today said any non urgent blood tests must be cancelled.
This will affect all Eastbourne patients as well.
Swiss pharmaceutical firm Roche said problems with a move to a new warehouse had led to a “very significant” drop in its processing capacity.
A spokesman said Covid-19 tests would be prioritised.
But the backlog could affect tests including for cancer and heart disease.
The Manor Park Medical Centre in Polegate has today sent out a message.
It says: “We have been told by the local CCG to cancel any non urgent blood tests for the time being.
“This is all surgeries………….
“We appreciate this is frustrating, it is causing a lot of work for us too.
“It is not our fault.”
