If you’re interested in spinning, weaving, felting, textile art, knitting and more, this is the place to be! With suppliers, makers, workshops and demos, it will be a celebration of all things textile.
This year’s exhibitors include, Franziska Weiser, who weaves beautiful textiles incorporating different textures and colours. If you’re interested in learning more about weaving, Franziska is always happy to share her knowledge.
Another regular Fibre Fest exhibitor is Ann Dishman of Briarbank Rainbows. If you’ve always fancied a go at using a spinning wheel, Ann is the person to chat to. Her knowledge is second to none! Ann also sells everything from fleece to hand spun yarns, handwoven items, drop spindle and needle felting supplies. Creative workshops A key feature of Fibre Fest are the creative workshops which always produce some impressive results.
This year’s workshops include, Fair Isle Knitting with Knitting Designer and best-selling Author Monica Russel, Weaving with Lewes based Textile Artist, Jackie Bennett and Vintage Hat making with Angela Elliott of Elliotts Millinery.
Such a great space Angela says, “I’m really excited to be part of Fibre Fest this year. The Enterprise Centre is such a great space, and there has been a real buzz when I’ve run workshops there in the past. This year I will be exhibiting my couture hats as well as running my three hour cocktail hat workshop, perfect for a wedding or a day at the races.”

This year there will also be an all-day creative corner for kids & adults run by Danoush Lachman where you can make hand crafted decorations. No booking necessary, just turn up! If you’re on the hunt for textile supplies, you’ll find a great range at Fibre Fest. Textile Designer, Liz Padgham-Major will have a range of her beautiful hand embroidery kits which make great gifts.
Liz, a Fibre Fest regular says, “I am very excited to be showing my work at Fibre Fest this year. I have taken part in Fibre Fest before and it’s a really unique and special event which will appeal to anyone who is interested in textiles and fibre art. It’s a great opportunity to buy direct from the makers and learn about their many techniques. Also, there are plenty of demonstrations going on so it is perfect for students, people who are new to craft and the more experienced who will find lots of inspiration.”
