Congress Theatre

Sunday 18 December 3pm

The biggest and best Swing session this festive season! Join the Len Phillips Swing Orchestra at the Congress Theatre Sunday 18 December, 3pm.  Nothing says Christmas like Bing Crosby, Michael Bublé and the classic sound of a big band and the Len Phillips Swing Orchestra is back to celebrate in style.

“The best band in the country” is how Channel Radio’s Roger Jeffrey described top 40 chart toppers, the Len Phillips Swing Orchestra (also known as LP Swing Orchestra). Over the last thirty-five years this 16-piece big band has grown to become the most popular of its kind in Britain. In its ranks are players who between them have worked with Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Ted Heath, Henry Manciniand Shirley Bassey to name but a few.

Through the Covid-19 pandemic, the band’s livestreamed concerts were world-leading in both their quantity and quality. With over 100,000 views for concerts, broadcasting from locations as varied as a field in Surrey to London’s Abbey Road Studios, the programme was a triumph unlike anything seen from any other orchestra in the World.

The band is heard regularly on BBC Radio and Jazz FM and can be seen live at concert halls and theatres around the country. Don’t miss your chance to celebrate the festive season with them in Eastbourne this December.

A seasonal family favourite show, A Swingin’ Christmas with the LP Swing Orchestra and Singers is packed with some of the best loved Christmas tunes of all time like Jingle Bells, Santa Claus Is Coming To Town, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, The Christmas Song, Silent Night and many more.
