BIRLING Gap Coastguard is urging all of us to take extra care this Bank Holiday weekend:
“We hope you are enjoying this glorious bank holiday weekend.
Just a polite reminder regarding blocking emergency access points.
Generally any gate along our stretch of coast can be a potential access point for us in the course of our duties and a lot of the gates do have signs on.
Also try to avoid parking on coastal paths as this also serve as an emergency access point.
Please do not park in a way which may impede us in accessing our stations or the coastline.
The person we may be helping could be one of your loved ones, and access issues can add vital minutes to our response times in accessing an emergency situation.”
