OUR MP says with Brexit there is ‘a deal to be done but not at any cost.’
Eastbourne MP Caroline Ansell said: “It appears the Brexit negotiations will go down to the wire, like all negotiations seem to with the EU.
Who knows whether both sides can agree on a trade deal – I hope so – but I do think the Prime Minister is right to hold firm over issues that affect the UK’s sovereignty. The idea we would be at the mercy of the EU’s rules and receive penalties for breaking them when it changes them is not acceptable and not what people voted for in the referendum.
In Eastbourne, we also have an inshore fishing fleet, so fisheries are also a local issue too. There is a deal to be done but not at any cost.”
