JOSH Babarinde will be contesting the next General Election in Eastbourne for the LibDems.

Here’s his news: “I’m beyond honoured to announce that I’ve been selected as the Liberal Democrat candidate to be Eastbourne and Willingdon’s Member of Parliament at the next election

I’m proud to receive the baton from my good friend and colleague Stephen Lloyd, our former Lib Dem MP, who has served our wonderful town with distinction.

Eastbourne has being the making of me. My family inspired me, my friends backed me, my teachers believed in me, my scout leaders challenged me, local businesses invested in me, my neighbours voted for me, our community lifted me.

As a result, I’ve been able to achieve so many of my aspirations – from going to university, to starting an award-winning business, to travelling around the world, to being honoured by the Queen.

I’m on a mission to give back to the town that has been the making of me – and to fight tooth and nail to ensure that everyone in our town has the opportunity to thrive, too.

That’s my number one goal as our Liberal Democrat MP candidate, and this will be my North Star as Eastbourne and Willingdon’s next MP, if our town elects me at the next General Election.

We need a vocal and visible MP who will pull out all the stops for our town. I have a track record of rolling up my sleeves for Eastbourne and Willingdon, and I’m committed to being the energetic local champion our community deserves.

I will challenge the inequalities that exist in our town, draw on my business experience to help drive the local economic recovery, hold this government to account on its pledge of a new hospital for Eastbourne, and I will stand up for local people. I’m fired up and ready to go, folks.

I’m going to need your help too, so message me or comment if you’re also fired up, and want to help me win! Onward!”
