EASTBOURNE MP Caroline Ansell has raised the case of a local family in the House of Commons.
Here’s Caroline: “Last week in Parliament there was a continuation of the debate on the Queen’s Speech and a general debate on the Restoration and Renewal of the Palace of Westminster.
I met with Home Office Minister Victoria Atkins to talk about online safety and in Business Questions on Thursday, raised the heart-breaking case of local boy, Alfie Aldridge, diagnosed aged 8 with ALD – a rare and life-limiting condition. My heart goes out to his mum, Rosie.
In the United States a simple post-natal check is used which could potentially have led to a different outcome for Alfie. I asked if a similar procedure could be used here in the UK.
I will be taking this forward.”
