Whilst 2021 saw continued lock downs and strict restrictions on life at Chaseley, residents, their loved ones, staff and volunteers have all remained positive and built a stronger Chaseley family. There have been many positives throughout the year, and we wanted to focus on these as the year comes to an end.

Firstly, we want to thank our staff and volunteer team who have worked tirelessly to ensure the health, safety and well-being of our residents has been maintained throughout. Their hard work has been recognised nationally; winning the Best Independent Charity Owned Care Home Award in the South East and our Well-Being Team placed in the top 5 Activity teams across the country.

Secondly, thank you to our residents and their loved ones for their continued understanding, kindness and support throughout the year. We recognise 2021 did not go as we had all hoped, but you have all embraced the year for what it was, and it was so lovely to be able to have afternoon tea with you all in our gardens as the Summer ended.

Thirdly, thank you to all our supporters who have helped to raise a wonderful amount of money for Chaseley across the year. We held a successful virtual balloon race, Superheroes took to the streets of Eastbourne and Hastings and residents sold their artwork at Eastbourne’s Vintage Festival.

We have received some wonderful monetary and gift donations from a variety of individuals, including the amazing £10k donation towards our 75th Anniversary Appeal, as well as a whole host of raffle prizes and garden items.

We have had great support from Concord BNI, who chose Chaseley as their chapter’s charity for the year, Heringtons, the Enterprise Centre, Bournefree, Eastbourne Lottery players and Amazon on-line shoppers.

Finally, thank you to all the Trusts & Foundations who have supported Chaseley with a variety of grants; The Frognal Trust, The Girdlers Company Charitable Trust, The Rowan Bentall Charitable Trust, Arnold Clarke, The Ofenheim Charitable Trust, The Percy Bilton Foundation, Catherine Cookson Charitable Trust and The Queen Mary’s Roehampton Trust.

Thank you to everyone who has supported Chaseley throughout 2021 and we look forward to seeing you all in 2022.
