EASTBOURNE cocktail bar Club 97 in South Street has reacted positively to this week’s spiking incidents in Eastbourne and Brighton.

“Due to outrageous recent events in night clubs. Club’97, have now put measures in place to greater protect our clients.

All of our staff will be trained in the “Ask For Angela” scheme. If you find yourself in any situation you do not feel comfortable in, please do not hesitate to make conversation with a member of our staff and ask to speak to angela, they will then help in any way they can.

It may be ‘discretely’ calling someone for you, calling a taxi, the police or a friend.

Our on site security team will also be at hand to help with any situation. We now also have available CYD drink spiking tests available at the bar.

Are you unsure about your drink? Think it tastes odd or are concerned someone may have tampered with it just ask at the bar and one small drop will let you know if it is safe. They are available to you for free. Our clients’ safety is priority.

Club’97 also has a defibrillator in the club for an emergency use. We are here for you. Your safety is out priory, as well as your nightlife quality.”
