Showcasing the Devonshire Quarter facilities and Eastbourne as a venue for conferences and meetings is at the top of the agenda for the Conference Eastbourne team.

Team members recently attended the two-day International Confex and two-day Meetings Show at London’s ExCel to promote the outstanding facilities available for conferences in Eastbourne whether it be two – 1,665 delegates.

Both events were held later than usual due to the Covid-19 pandemic but with lockdown restrictions lifted and conferences returning, it was part of an ongoing programme to push Eastbourne Borough Council’s venues in the Devonshire Quarter including the new Welcome Building and Locker Rooms as well as the newly refurbished Congress Theatre and Winter Garden.

Already this year the venues have played host to NHS staff meetings, a Sussex Police divisional awards ceremony and the English Bridge Union Summer Competition welcoming over 1500 delegates.

Eastbourne Borough Council’s Lead Member for Tourism and Culture Councillor Margaret Bannister said, “Eastbourne is a vibrant and flourishing destination and with a spectacular seafront, beautiful buildings, integrated facilities, an abundance of cafes, restaurants, shops and excellent transport links, it’s easy to see why it’s a popular choice for conferences.

“Our Conference Eastbourne team are working hard to spread the message that Eastbourne is THE place to be for conferences and corporate events where delegates can enjoy the fantastic experience that being in Eastbourne will provide.

“As well as the refurbished Congress Theatre and Winter Garden, we have the Welcome Building with flexible exhibition and conference space, a new public plaza and ramped access, Eastbourne Town Hall, the International Tennis Centre and the Locker Room, a popular multi-functional space.”

The Conference Eastbourne team organises meetings, conferences, exhibitions, galas, awards dinners, weddings and parties. For a site visit contact the team at or telephone 01323 415437.
