EAST SUSSEX County Council has updated its guidance for Covid 19 testing locally.

And it says people must only go to a testing site if they have an appointment.

A spokesperson said: “Nationally people are experiencing difficulty booking Covid-19 tests.

While we have plenty of testing sites across Sussex, the number of tests they can do each day is limited by how much national laboratory capacity there is to process the test results.

We all need to play our part to protect the NHS Test and Trace service for those who really need it.

You only need a test if you have Covid symptoms or have been asked to get a test, if you don’t have symptoms don’t get a test.

We also know people are driving to testing sites without an appointment.

Save yourself a wasted journey and don’t travel to a testing site without an appointment – you won’t be tested.
