Meads councillors donated just over £1,000 to St John’s Church for a barbecue lunch for 500 residents as part of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
They also gave £456 to Vision for Eastbourne to repair its 360-degree camera which is used to provide footage for a number of community organisations.
The money recently came from Eastbourne Borough Council’s Devolved Budget scheme.
In Upperton, ward councillors provided almost £240 from the scheme for hanging baskets outside businesses in Crown Street with the green-fingered help of Eastbourne Allotments and Gardens Society and Grow Eastbourne.
They also funded a £70 cordless drill for Grow Eastbourne’s allotment at Gorringe Road so that structures can built there for the increasing number of volunteers.
