Councillors have donated £400 towards a sensory garden at Ocklynge Junior School for children with special educational needs and disabilities.

Old Town councillors approved the funding application through Eastbourne Borough Council’s Devolved Budget scheme.

The sensory garden will become a space to learn, play, relax and explore for children who can find it challenging to be in a more traditional schooling environment.

Additionally, Upperton councillors have agreed £250 for autumn planting at Eastbourne Railway Station.

Tree Friends, part of Eastbourne Friends of the Earth, who are responsible for creating and maintaining the planters there, applied for the funding.
