EASTBOURNE Borough FC has suspended all youth section training sessions until July 24 as Covid rates increase in the town and in our schools.
This gives 10 days of inactivity at the club to hopefully create a buffer to slow the spread of Covid-19 that is currently running rife at schools throughout the county.
Here’s CEO John Bonar:
“Unfortunately, individual schools have individual policies that appear to be sometimes contradictory and are confusing parents, with whole years being sent home as part of bubbles.
We plan to re-open on Saturday the 24th of July when our own Covid-19 policies will be implemented that everyone should already be aware of:- If you have a temperature or have felt ill in the last two days do not attend training and seek a covid test.Obviously, our own policies do not supersede any government policies so should anyone test positive then they must self-isolate and must not attend training sessions.
This has been a very difficult decision to take but we hope that we will have the support of everyone to ensure the health and safety of all concerned at Eastbourne Borough Football Club. As usual should anyone have any concerns and wish to discuss this matter, please feel free to contact me.”
