During the last two weeks the trustees and volunteers of Medi Tech Trust in Eastbourne have picked and packed boxes of urgently needed medical equipment for Ukraine.

Five carloads were delivered to the convoy organised by Eurodrive, followed by 50 boxes containing 22,000 items requested by Ukrainian doctors, which was organised by Rotary International, and are now in transit to Ukraine. A further donation of 50 boxes will be ready this week to meet the latest appeal for help.

Medi Tech Trust, a charity based in Eastbourne, was awarded the Queens Award for Voluntary Service for its targeted help in providing PPE during the Covid pandemic as well as its previous charitable initiatives.

Medi Tech Trust was founded to provide medical equipment and training to areas throughout the world where medical facilities are limited. By donating modern medical equipment to doctors’ surgeries in East Sussex and the City of Brighton, so far over 500,000 patients’ experiences have improved. Hopefully 2022 will see Hailsham, Lewes and Seaford benefit.
