Our Town needs ongoing sea defence work in order to keep tidal flooding at bay. With predicted, unchecked searises, many areas of our Town will be flooded by 2040. We will be on the frontline of climate change. Yet our Government carries on regardless as though the climate crisis is far away and not on our doorsteps.
Eastbourne COP26 Climate Coalition is holding a March and Rally on 6th November. We are intent on, not only joining globally with others to send a united and strong message to governments meeting in Glasgow; but also to raise awareness with local Eastbourners that this issue affects us all.
For the March, meet at Banker’s Corner, Terminus Road, BN21 3NE at 12pm. For the Rally (speakers, poets, musicians and stalls) meet at the Wish Tower Slopes, BN21 4BY at 2pm. All welcome.
Let’s raise our voices for Social and Climate Justice. Solidarity with all our global neighbours whose communities are being destroyed by the climate crisis. And solidarity with climate refugees who have already lost their homes.
