AN Eastbourne family is trying to raise £2,000 so its injured kitten can be treated well by vets.

So far the total donated is £305.

Pom is a very poorly kitten.

He is 11 weeks old but the size of a six-week-old kitten.

Faye-alice Rose is organizing this fundraiser.

She said: “We’ve been back and forth from the vets with him since last week when he had to be admitted for critical care.

“Since then he’s been back 4 times and it seems the prognosis isn’t good.

“He weighs a tiny 400g when a newborn kitten weighs 100g.

“A specialist sonographer has to be called in as the vet thinks he has a portosystemic shunt. The scan alone is going to cost approx £600 and if the shunt is there, Pom will need a complex operation which will cost in excess of £2000 but it’s very high risk, due to his size.

“Pom Bear has a chance of living a long and healthy life, regardless of the cost but we will need to ask for help towards his vet bills.

“We can’t thank Cobie Vetcare in Eastbourne enough for looking after this very special boy, we were told he was 12-24 hours close to dying which is extremely upsetting and heartbreaking for everyone involved in his care.”

Unique Pets Rescue is a self funded rescue ‘trying to do our best for all the cats and kittens in our care.’
