THE Trussell Trust – of which Eastbourne Foodbank is part of – says it won’t be giving up on the £20 Universal Credit cut which came into force yesterday.
It says: “Are you feeling disappointed with the UK Government’s decision to cut #UniversalCredit by £20 a week?
To make your voice heard, send a message to Westminster for free by texting 88080, starting your message with ‘Rishi’ followed by why you believe the cut is wrong, or if you or someone you know might be personally impacted.
We’re not giving up. Millions of households will be wondering how they can afford the essentials.
They’ll be worrying about getting through a winter with soaring energy prices, increasing costs of living and a rise in national insurance. We need the Government to make a U-turn before the Spending Review on 27 October and support them now, more than ever.
