EASTBOURNE Green Party is fielding candidates in the May 6 elections.
Donna Lonsdale-O’Brien is standing in the Langney ward.
Here are her thoughts: “I believe that all politics is rooted in wellbeing. I firmly believe that it’s vital to properly support individuals and communities by planning and providing people-focused, sustainable services, designed around the needs of the people of East Sussex.
If I am elected to become a Councillor for the people of Langney ward, my priorities will be:
Divestment of ESCC pension fund from fossil fuels – let’s stop funding activity that causes climate change
Adopt a carbon neutral 2030 target – let’s act to reduce any impacts that climate change will cause
End support of the plans to build off the A27 – we need an excellent public transport scheme, not more roads
Support and implement the Hailsham to Eastbourne bus lane – this would be good for people and planet
Urge central government to increase funds for Adult Social Care and Schools – let’s look after people properly.”
