THE Rotary Club of Sovereign Harbour is folding at the end of December.

Until recently, there were 5 clubs in town – soon there will be just 2.

Here is their public statement: “Members of RCSH recently came to the very sad and reluctant decision to close the club at the end of December 2023.

We have been chartered for a relatively short time compared to some clubs,13 years.

Our members have always been focussed on raising funds for local charities and organisations. To this end we have exceeded £320,000 in charitable donations. In the main this has been collected due to the kindness and generosity of residents in Eastbourne and Sovereign Harbour. Without you our club and the work of the charities we support would have been much diminished.

Thank you so much for your support and generosity.

Another key tenet of our strategy has been to use social media to spread the word and to help profile local organisations across the town and East Sussex.

This Facebook page? – Some of our members may become independent members of Rotary. Should this be the case, in January, this page will be re branded as The Independent Rotarians of Sovereign Harbour.

Finally a very Happy Christmas to you, your families and friends. Have a happy and healthy 2024.

All the best and, one final Thank You.

Members of the Rotary Club of Sovereign Harbour.”
