LAST week Neil Kirby – owner of the Langham Hotel – was slamming the decision by Eastbourne Borough Council to allow The Glass House to remain open until 1am.

He told councillors that he had made a major investment in his hotel and was concerned about the effect on his business of the late hours and the noise.

Bizarrely he appears to have done a u-turn.

It’s the site of the former Pavilion Cafe on Eastbourne Seafront, near to The Langham.

Shoes Simes – who will open The Glass House – has paid for an advert, which says: “Great meeting with Neil from the Langham Hotel today!

A productive meeting with our new neighbour Neil Kirby, owner of Langham Hotel, Eastbourne. Discussing exciting possibilities for future business relations and a bright future for our local community. Always lovely to visit you and the team.”
