THE LGBT community group still aims to mark World Aids Day despite the current lockdown restrictions.

World Aids Day is on December 1 and Eastbourne BourneOut is organising a socially-distanced walk on this day.

People wanting to get involved can just turn up. The event will start at 2pm from the Town Hall and finish at the bandstand where prayers will be said and speeches made to mark the occasion.

Afterwards, people are invited back to the BourneOut drop-in cafe on Mark Lane for food and refreshments.

BourneOut chairman Betty Gallacher said, “This date must never be forgotten even in this time of Covid-19 and lockdown.

“We want to mark World Aids Day in our own way and we invite others in the town to do the same.”
