Kiernan and Claire Pooley of Eastbourne Swingjive were selected to dance in the Queen’s people pageant on Sunday.

The troupe of 100, dressed up in 50’s gear and danced to some of the well known tracks of the time whilst supported by several celebrities on a bus, such as Cliff Richard, while they danced their socks off for 3kms.

“It was amazing, exhausting and emotional towards the finale. A chance in a lifetime and never to be forgotten”, said Claire. They enjoy sharing their dance moves at the local Lindy hop classes At Community Wise in Old Town Eastbourne on a Monday evening. “Although this Monday’s class we were both stiff and tired but encouraged by the students’ enthusiasm”.
