Eastbourne MP Caroline Ansell praises Prime Minister Boris Johnson in her weekly e-newsletter to residents.
“Boris Johnson undertook his last Prime Minister’s Questions this week just before Parliament goes into recess.
He got Brexit done when many said it couldn’t be done. In doing so, he delivered on the referendum and fulfilled the wishes of the majority here in Eastbourne and Willingdon who voted to leave the EU back in 2016. Democracy was served and the country brought back from constitutional crisis.
The vaccine rollout and the lives it saved is also a huge achievement in the face of the biggest crisis this country has faced in many years.
His leadership against Putin’s aggression is also a high point of his premiership.
These are very considerable contributions to our public life.
It is with some regret I see him go but at the close, it was the only way.”
