OUR MP was on BBC1 on Sunday morning, and one of the sibjects debated was ‘new measures to address the issues caused by illegal encampments.’
Caroline Ansell said: “We’ve had six such encampments in Eastbourne this last year.
Fair to say it was a testy exchange after the Gypsy, Roma and Traveller campaigner on the panel likened these proposals to what happened in Nazi Germany.
There was no recognition of the distress that can be caused to local residents with unauthorised encampments, nor the costs”.
