EASTBOURNE MP Caroline Ansell is claiming that Meads Post Office has been saved.
Yesterday villagers staged a peaceful protest against the closure of the Co-op next February, which until now has put the Post Office at risk.
Not so any more, according to Caroline,
She says: “Good news on the Meads Street Post Office!
Today I received assurances from the Post Office following my intervention last week and they have assured me that they are committed to providing these vital services in the area.
Now the task is to find a new local partner following the sad closure of the Co-op store in 2022.
Shortly the Post Office will be advertising this opportunity so a shout out to local businesses of an exciting opportunity ahead – Meads needs you!
We know just how vital Post Office services are for our communities.

Great news for Meads!
