OUR MP Caroline Ansell says staying in Tier 2 is ‘good news and I am very pleased.’
She said: “I have always pressed the government for an ever more local covid restrictions policy.
So splitting off Rother and Hastings into Tier 3 while Eastbourne and Willingdon and the rest of East Sussex remain in Tier 2 is a positive development, good news and I am very pleased.
This is godsend for our hospitality industry, but it comes with a hefty health warning.
We may be a lower infection area now but we must do all we can to make sure that remains the case by keeping to the restrictions assigned to us.
We are not living in isolation and we share the same NHS trust as Hastings and the same healthcare staff.I urge everyone to do all they can over the coming weeks to keep themselves and their loved one safe.
Please practise socially distancing and think carefully about meeting up with three households over the Christmas relaxation, particularly if you have elderly or vulnerable relatives or they are coming from higher infection areas.”
