Eastbourne MP Caroline Ansell has spoken of the ‘disruption and upset’ at the closure of Langney Post Office last week.
She said: “As you may be aware, unfortunately, the post office facilities in Langney Shopping Centre closed on the 20th July. I was there for its opening in 2020 and I understand the disruption and upset this will cause in Langney.
I have spoken to the Post Office nationally and they are committed to making sure that there are Post Office services in the area. I’ve also reached out to Sholeh, who ran this branch, to see what I can do to help.
I will be speaking to Langney Shopping Centre management and local businesses to work towards finding a new partner for the Post Office and returning normal service as soon as possible.
I will also be speaking to the Minister for Postal Services soon to see what further he can do to help.
