Eastbourne’s MP Caroline Ansell has welcomed massive government investment into the Devonshire Quarter.
Eastbourne’s Devonshire Quarter is set to receive £1.8 million in the second round of the Government’s Culture Recovery Fund to aid the venue in its reopening and recovery.
Caroline said: “This money is another vital contribution towards Eastbourne’s recovery from Covid. The money going into the Devonshire Quarter and other cultural organisations is important and all are very much worthy of this substantial investment.
It is also another example of the incredible support the government continues to give Eastbourne and how ministers recognise that coastal towns, heavily dependent on tourism and hospitality, need it.
My focus over the coming months will be to persuade the government to continue to help Eastbourne in every possible way.
This approach has been successful with money to fight crime through the Safer Streets Fund, the VAT reduction and big investment in our NHS but if we are to save jobs and businesses and really make Eastbourne an even bigger success, then my job is to continue talking to ministers and making the case for our town.“
