EASTBOURNE actor and presenter Mark Curry has created a fundraising project for professional performers and creatives who are currently financially and emotionally challenged.
Called, “Conversations…with Mark Curry”, this is a series of interviews with some well-known faces recorded via zoom last year.
These include Bonnie Langford, Debbie McGee, Beverley Callard, Millicent Martin, Toyah Wilcox, Annabel Croft, Rula Lenska , Sheila Ferguson and Rosie Casals.
These are free to watch on the, “Acting For Others”, designated YouTube channel and after viewing, there is an opportunity to donate to this organisation, safely and securely via a JustGiving page.
“Acting For Others”, is an umbrella organisation providing financial and emotional support through 14 entertainment-based charities.
President is Dame Judi Dench and other high-profile names support the fundraising.
Mark said: “Acting for Others is here as an aid to further the work of the 14 member charities by providing additional funds through our fund-raising activity, donations and legacies.
We support all theatre workers in times of need, whether they are backstage, on stage or front of house.
Together, along with grant making, we have also been able to provide counselling, benefit advice, support nursing home fees, help with retraining and help actors’ children lead secure and creative lives.
We come to the aid of all theatre professional.”
Acting for Others provide an essential source of income for all the member charities.
