EQUALITY and diversity are more important than ever in society today.

That’s what makes Eastbourne Pride 2022 more relevant and such a key event in our town’s events calendar.

It’s taking place on Saturday July 23, organised by the BourneOut LGBTQ group which does such valuable work in Eastbourne.

Betty Gallacher and Mandy Smith head the committee staging Eastbourne Pride 2022.

Betty said: “This is such a special day and we want people in Eastbourne to help us celebrate.

“Eastbourne Pride 2022 is open to all – we have so many families attend; it isn’t just for the LGBTQ community.

“Sadly there is still prejudice in our town today – Pride is an opportunity to all become one family.

“We are so looking forwards to celebrating at Eastbourne Pride with you all again this year.”

There is a fantastic line-up of entertainment with amazing food and drinks stall and so much more. It all starts at 11am and lasts until 9pm.

Tickets are £5 for adults and £1 for children under 16.

The Parade meets at Eastbourne Pier from 10am and sets off at 11am along the seafront, arriving at Princes Park where the party is based.

There is a capacity of 5000 people for the park – so it’s important to get your tickets in advance.

Performers on stage include Drag Queen Comedian Rita Bix, Abba Magic, Adele tribute act Helen Ward Jackson, Sea Gypsies and Almost Pink.
