ALL of our secondary schools have decided NOT to host Open days and evenings due to Covid.

Cavendish School posted the announcement on social media this afternoon.

Normally pupils going into secondary school at Year 7 visit schools they wish to consider either this month or in October.

Lockdown and the after effects mean this is not possible due to the risks involved.

A spokesperson for Cavendish School said: “Due to government guidance, all Eastbourne Secondary Schools are unable to host their Open Events for September 2021 intake.

“A virtual tour and Headteacher’s speech will be available on our website and social media from Thursday 24 September 2020.

“We would love to host our Open Evening and Morning Tours as normal, but we usually have over 500 families attending our Open Events so I am afraid that is just not possible as the risks are far too high and we need to ensure everyone’s safety.

“The virtual tour is being professionally prepared and will be as close to the real experience as possible.”
