EASTBOURNE Studio Pottery has been awarded £50,000 from the government.
The Arts Council and the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport have today announced funding awarded through Round 2 of the Government’s Culture Recovery Fund.
A spokesperson said: “How amazing is this news – we were thrilled to hear we have received funding thanks to the government’s #CultureRecoveryFund so that we can continue to be here for you and #HereForCulture.”
Here are details of their half-term workshop for children aged 10 and over, Sunday 25th October 2.00 to 4.00pm £15 per child.
They said: “We will be using terracotta clay to make animal inspired planters decorated with embossed patterns and coloured slips.
The children will be introduced to the three basic methods of hand building with clay – pinch, coil and slab, to make these fun and functional plant pots. The children’s work will be glazed and fired twice making it suitable for use inside or outside.
The pots will then be ready to collect from the studio three weeks after the workshop.
