EASTBOURNE business leaders say the supermarkets are the ‘most likely source of infection.’

Of course our supermarkets will remain open as we go into Tier 4 tomorrow.

Eastbourne Chamber of Commerce said: “With effect from Boxing Day East Sussex will be moving from Tier 2 into Tier 4 to try to slow the spread of the new strain of Covid virus.

This means that non-essential shops will be closing along with pubs, cafes, restaurants, gyms and hairdressers.

The only stores who will be allowed to remain open are supermarkets, food stores, hardware stores and health providers (like opticians).

Having checked the Weekly Covid Surveillance Reports we can report that the most likely source of infection is from visits to supermarkets.”
