Eastbourne Theatres has officially launched their own Theatre Podcast this September.
It is available to listen to at all podcast apps including Spotify, Apple Podcasts and Google Podcasts. Just search ‘Eastbourne Theatres Podcast’ to find it and subscribe.
This exclusive insight into the venues will feature interviews with cast and creative teams who will be coming to the theatres and theatre news. The first episode features an especially recorded interview with comic, film and television star Rob Brydon ahead of his show at the Congress this month and a chat with Alastair Whatley, Artistic Director of Original Theatre Company, on how they used digital technology and live streaming during the pandemic.
It will feature a new episode every other week and will run until January 2022.
The theatres team recognised the huge interest in giving behind the scenes access and providing a chance for listeners to get a feel for what goes on behind the curtain with a focus each episode on different shows and aspects of the live theatre world. The podcasts will also include backstage tid-bits, insights into the secret history of the venues and access to show launches including the ever-popular pantomime.
This is a chance for listeners to access never-before heard content in an exclusive and free podcast.
The venues are renown for entertaining the thousands of people who come to the venues but now it’s a chance for the venues to let audiences backstage!
It’s the first time Eastbourne Theatres have presented a regular podcast and it’s hoped they will prove as popular as the theatres other social media channels and offer a wider range of access to more people about what is going on at the venues.
Chris Jordan, Theatre Director of Eastbourne Theatres said “The aim of the audiocast is to be chatty, informative, interesting, and fun. A chance to give a glimpse into the inner-workings of the theatres along with an opportunity to hear from the cast and creative teams on upcoming shows – to get a view from backstage so to speak.”
Chris added “We’ve got great followers on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter who enjoy the behind-the-scenes photos that we post on there; this podcast will allow us to offer even more access and let audiences in on a few more secrets! We’re especially looking forward to releasing the panto themed podcast later in the season!”
