AN Eastbourne charity has received a £750 cash boost.

People Matter, an independent charity based in Saffrons Road, Eastbourne, offers support to anyone aged 19 years and above.

They offer assistance in CV writing, sources of job leads, IT support and training to enable applying for jobs online and ongoing practical, social and emotional support.

The donation has come from Heatherleigh Developments Limited, which has recently completed the refurbishment of the former Heatherleigh Hotel offering one and two bedroom apartments on the seafront.

This development was subject to a local labour agreement supporting local business and people.

To enable ongoing assistance to those looking for employment in the construction industry, Heatherleigh Developments made a £750 donation to People Matter.

Cllr Jim Murray, Chair of Planning Committee, said ‘To support local people and businesses, the Council secures employment and training obligations on developments in Eastbourne. I am pleased that the Heatherleigh development has made a positive contribution to the local economy.’
