IT’S been a very rewarding month with the launch of the Eastbourne Community Awards 2026.
This is true partnership working between Bournefree, Coda Pharmacy and Glass House. The big night is Thursday June from 7pm.
As you can read on page 11, the launch took place in February with a series of social media posts to raise awareness.
The next step – in March’s Bournefree – will be to publish the full list of categories, and how to make nominations,
Every penny raised will be going to charity, and we are hopeful of a very successful event.

I have been lucky enough to have two business meetings in the past few weeks at Hotel Cumberland – and what a great venue it is developing into.
Jamieson and his team are doing a truly fantastic job with big investment into making the Cumberland a more attractive place, for both locals and holidaymakers.
A new restaurant is on the horizon in addition to improvements to the rooms. It’s worth checking out.
I also had the pleasure to meet Poojita Patel from Walfinch Care on Eastbourne seafront, a very kind and caring woman.
Poojita has had a difficult journey to reach this part of her life and recovering from a brain tumour has made her determined to deliver care that is human, heartfelt, and deeply respectful.

Finally, a shout out for Howden Insurance – St Wilfrid’s Hospice – Fundraiser evening on March 27.
