Afterlight, a brand new festival taking place at Beachy Head from 23 – 31 October is proving to be a sell out success!

Hosted by Heritage Eastbourne and funded by the European Regional Development Fund, via the Welcome Back fund, this new festival embraces the changing of the seasons and celebrates the beauty to be experienced at Beachy Head both during the daytime and into the evening.

Admission is free for all events as part of the festival, however spaces must be pre-booked to enjoy the activities on offer including folklore storytelling, make your own pumpkin pom poms and a shadow puppet performance and workshop.

Eastbourne Borough Council Lead Cabinet Member for Tourism and Culture, Cllr Margaret Bannister said “We are thrilled to be launching Afterlight this autumn and so pleased to see that this new event is proving to be popular with some of the activities already fully booked!

Beachy Head has long been admired and visited for it’s breath-taking landscape and far reaching views during the daytime hours but we are excited to showcase what this outstanding area has to offer when the sun starts to set.

From twilight nature walks and night time photography workshops to stargazing with the Eastbourne Astronomy Society and enjoying live music from Chalk Horse Music with their South Downs inspired folk songs, it is truly a celebration of the local area.”

With a wide range of events on offer throughout the 9 day festival, suitable for both adults and children, online booking is available for all activities. Admission is free for all events however pre-booking is essential.
