Families were having picnics ‘two metres from the cliff edge at Beachy Head’ yesterday.

Here’s the report on the Sussex Coast Incident news page: “Today we were out-and-about in the Beachy Head area and with our own eyes we have seen people nearly fall off the tallest cliff in Britain.

Families could be seen having picnics with young children within 2 metres of the cliff edge, others risking their lives taking photos leaning over the clifftop, and at the bottom of the cliffs down at Birling Gap we have families setting up camp for the day metres away from recent cliff falls.

Anyone within a few metres of the cliff could have expected a bang on the head at any moment.”
