HALLMARK Care Homes is investing millions of pounds into Eastbourne with its new site off Kings Drive.
Here we find out more about the forward-thinking company:
Community is at the heart of Hallmark Care Homes – both inside each of our 19 homes and in their wider neighbourhoods. Strong relationships are formed, laughter is actively encouraged and challenges are embraced. In fact, Hallmark recently supported the Wilf Walk, a charity walk in aid of St Wilfrid’s Hospice, which brought many members of the Eastbourne community together for a local cause.
Always seeking to add to our communities, we are pleased to announce that a handful of new Hallmark Care Homes are currently under construction, and one – Willingdon Park Manor Care Home in Eastbourne – will be right on your doorstep. Due to open next summer, the 80-bed home will be set in stunning landscaped gardens, and will have a café serving delicious homemade treats, a state-of-the-art cinema, hair salon and therapy rooms. Oh, and a beautiful Victorian-style orangery.
As with our other homes, the standard of comfort and relationship-centred care will be exceptional and the happiness and safety of your loved one will be paramount.
Residential Care
When residents come to live with us, we focus on allowing them to maintain their lifestyle and independence as much as possible. We support both existing and new friendships and encourage hobbies, whether they are previous pastimes or new experiences our residents might like to try. We provide a variety of activities, including arts and crafts, games, gardening, cooking… We also arrange fun day trips – visit to the seaside, anyone?
Nursing Care
We support residents with both simple and complex nursing needs – perhaps those who need rehabilitative care following a stroke or injury, people with physical disabilities, or those living with a long-term condition, such as Parkinson’s disease, arthritis or respiratory illness. Our first-rate nursing team tailors each care plan to the individual needs of each resident to ensure the highest degree of care.
Dementia Care
With our new and well-structured ‘Welcome Home’ dementia care strategy, we aim to help residents feel ‘at home’ by fulfilling six ‘senses’: a sense of security, belonging, purpose, achievement, continuity and significance. How we fulfil these things will vary from resident to resident, but we’ve discovered that our team wearing regular clothes in the Dementia community, rather than uniforms and the implementation of a structured volunteer programme will both have a positive impact on how residents will feel more ‘at home’.
We also aim to satisfy these ‘senses’ for our residents’ loved ones as we understand the significance of you putting your trust in us to care for your family member.
Hallmark is all about people, relationships and community. We would love to welcome you and your family into our new home.
The Willingdon Park Manor Care Home will be located at 282 Kings Drive, Eastbourne, East Sussex BN21 2YB. Feel free to drive past to see how its construction is coming along.
