FESTIVE FAMILY FILMS FROM FIVE POUNDS!
18 – 24 December 2020 – Congress MOVIE Theatre Returns
Christmas family treats don’t need to cost a small fortune.
The Congress MOVIE Theatre has a selection of festive family films from 18 – 24 December with ticket prices just £5 for children! The theatre proudly displays the See it Safely mark, an industry awarded recommendation which shows the venue is operating safely with all COVID-security systems in place.
There will be a special guest appearing at the screening of Frozen 2, Elsa, who will present a socially distanced safe surprise before the movie begins on 19 December.
With so many theatres unable to open this festive period and with the famous Eastbourne pantomime paused until next year, the Congress Theatre has been safely transformed into a COVID-secure cinema space.
The Congress MOVIE Theatre which was launched over the October half-term saw hundreds of people return to the venue to enjoy films on the big screen. Audiences said “We felt very safe” (J Tice – Facebook) and “A GREAT way to watch a movie” (philhobden.co.uk).
The festive week features: The Nightmare Before Christmas (18 December, 7pm) a double-bill Frozen (11am) followed by Frozen 2 with Elsa as a special guest before the film (3pm both 19 December), Nativity! (20 December, 3pm), Home Alone (21 December, 1.30pm and 4.30pm), How The Grinch Stole Christmas (22 December, 1.30pm and 4.30pm), Elf (23 December 1.30pm and 4.30pm) and Muppet Christmas Carol (Christmas Eve 24 December, 11am and 2.30pm).
Doors open 1 hour before the film. The DQ Café and Bar, which is situated in the Welcome Building adjacent to the theatre, is open for treats and light lunches, and the Stage Door Pub now offers Kids’ Meals priced at just £5.95 – so make it a festive treat afternoon at the DQ Quarter.
Safety for everyone is paramount and the Congress Theatre offers a secure space which will be thoroughly cleaned after each performance, multiple entrances/exits allow safe access to this recently refurbished venue with large open plan communal areas. The theatre is operating a socially distanced seating plan at these events – which restricts the number of tickets sold so early booking is advised.
To book see eastbournetheatres.co.uk. Tickets are priced at adults £8, child tickets £5 (under 16s).
