Filipino Cuisine is now open at the Enterprise Shopping Centre, bringing the warm, homemade flavours of the Philippines right into the heart of the town. The moment you step inside, you’re greeted with the comforting aroma of slow‑cooked dishes, vibrant colours and the kind of hospitality that makes you feel instantly at home.
Owner Brenda will be familiar to many visitors of Eastbourne Borough Market, where her stall has long been a favourite for freshly made Filipino food. Her passion for cooking began early. “From childhood, the aroma of sizzling garlic and adobo filled our home,” she says. “Cooking was never just a task, it was my passion.” While other children played outside, she was happiest in the kitchen, learning family recipes and experimenting with flavours passed down through generations.
That early love grew into a lifelong dedication. “I spent countless hours perfecting the classics,” Brenda recalls, from the crispy delight of Lechon Kawali to the rich comfort of Kare‑Kare. Encouraged by friends and family, she took a leap of faith and launched a small market stall, a decision that changed everything. “I just wanted to share the flavours of home,” she says. “And people welcomed them with open arms.”
A feast made with heart
Filipino Cuisine brings the heart of the Philippines to Eastbourne with a menu of homemade dishes, all freshly cooked and full of soul. Savoury favourites like crisp, golden Lumpia, rich and comforting Adobo, flavour‑packed Pancit, steaming Beef Lomi and the slow‑simmered warmth of Bulalo are perfect for sharing with family and friends. You’ll also find regional classics such as Laing Sa Gata, Chicken Isaw, and the much‑loved breakfast plates Hotsilog and Tapsilog — hearty, satisfying and made with real care.

Flavours to take home

You’ll find crunchy classics like Chick Boys Texas BBQ snacks, Ding Dong’s savoury snack mix, Marty’s Cracklin’ and the ever‑popular Oishi prawn crackers, alongside Cheepee corn chips for an easy grab‑and‑go treat.
For cooking, Mama Sita’s liquid seasoning and Tiparos fish sauce bring instant depth and umami to everyday dishes, while Ligo sardines and cooked salted duck eggs are beloved staples across the Philippines. Those with a sweet tooth can try Beunas purple yam spread — a vibrant ube delight — or turn up the heat with fiery Buldak noodles. It’s a little taste of the Philippines to take home.
Still at the market
If you enjoy the hustle and bustle of market day, you’ll still find Filipino Cuisine at Eastbourne Borough Market on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 9am to 4pm, where Brenda continues to serve the homemade dishes that first won the community over. “Seeing people enjoy my food, just as I dreamed since childhood, fills me with so much joy,” she says.
Today, Brenda’s journey, from a young girl experimenting in her family kitchen to a thriving entrepreneur, is woven into every meal she prepares. “Every dish carries a piece of my culture,” she says. “Sharing that with Eastbourne means the world to me.”
