When the lockdown ends on 17th May there will be a new Town Centre restaurant called Flames opening in Bolton Road on the site of the former zizzis Restaurant which went bankrupt and closed in July of last year.
The premises are owned by Colin Taylor and his family and back in 1984 was opened by Colin as a self service restaurant called Shades.
It became an instant success story and with the support of his wife Sharon became a very popular destination for shoppers during the day and for quality waiter service meals during the evenings.
It was very popular for parties, especially at Xmas time.
The premises were left in a very dilapidated state by Zizzis and during the past six months have been extensively renovated and the kitchens have been totally re fitted with the most up to date equipment.Flames will be managed by Michelle, who is the daughter of Colin and Sharon and Michelle’s fiancé Dan Mason
The family are really excited about this new challenge and will be aiming to provide the type and quality of service that has been associated with Shades for the past 37 years.
The premises will be waitress service and open six days a week (closed Mondays).
Opening times will be 9.30am to 5pm Tuesday and Wednesday and Sunday.
On Thursday Friday and Saturday it will open at 9am with last orders at 9pm. and on Sunday there will be a carvery lunch served until 3pm
There will be a wide selection of dishes available and the speciality for the evenings service will be STEAKS, BURGERS and fish etc cooked on the very latest type of grill by three very experienced chefs. There will be seating for about 90 in the main restaurant and seating on the forecourt for another 30.
There is also a well stocked bar offering a wide range of soft and alcoholic drinks and draught beer. This is another exciting project for the Taylor family whose objective is to provide the quality of food and service that will make you want to return. It should be a superb venue for any type of party.
