In 2020, Chris Westcott lost his wife Linda to motor neurone disease, a terrible illness.
To try and turn a negative into a positive, each year he organises a charity event to raise funds for research into the disease.
On Saturday September 19, his brother Nick will perform with his folk band Black Strap Molasses at the Lamb Inn, Old Town, from 7.30pm until around 9.30pm.
The band has been playing locally for more than 30 years and is very highly regarded.
It is known for a wide-ranging catalogue of songs, some poignant, some funny and all beautifully produced in a blend of vocals and instruments.
Nick has also written a song dedicated to people affected by MND, which he will perform on the evening.
Entrance is free with a collection at the end, and there will be a raffle with some great prizes.
Chris said: “Linda was incredibly well known in Eastbourne, and I do hope that people will support the night.
“If anyone is unable to make the evening but would like to make a donation, I will buy a raffle ticket on your behalf. It promises to be a fun evening for a great cause.”
