Kings Restaurant at East Sussex College Eastbourne is where quality and value combine for a first-class dining experience.
An exciting hybrid of student training and a real working restaurant combine to offer a unique dining experience at Kings Restaurant in Eastbourne. Located in the Kings Building of East Sussex College, the restaurant is open to the public during the daytime and evenings for selected themed special events (term-time only).
What makes it so special? A five-star dining experience (as per Tripadvisor) awaits, with a specially crafted menu, focusing on quality locally sourced produce where possible. Students are trained under the watchful eye of tutors in class and then run the kitchen/front of house under the supervision of restaurant managers Oliver Zecchin and Laura Da Silva-Henriques.
Kings prides itself on being a valuable asset to the community. Oliver and the team work with local employers to provide students the very best start to their careers in Hospitality and Catering. Links include the likes of The Grand Hotel Eastbourne, The View Hotel, and Rathfinny Wine Estate.
The Kings restaurant team invites you to be their guest for a bistro-style lunch experience on Wednesdays, a fine-dining experience on Thursdays, and Afternoon Teas on Fridays. Kings Coffee Shop is also open to the public on weekdays except Tuesdays (8.30am-12pm), where a coffee and bacon roll will set you back just £3.50. If it’s on your commute to work, be sure to give them a try. And if you’re not en route, it’s worth a detour!
The Wednesday bistro service offers an a la carte offering with three starters, three mains and three puddings available. These are all priced accordingly.

On Thursdays, Kings offers a table d’hote menu with two courses at £15 and three courses at £17. Tea and coffee is inclusive on both days.

On Fridays, guests can enjoy an afternoon tea at 1pm for £12.50 and this is excellent value with a full round of sandwiches, plain and fruit scones with jam and clotted cream, sweet and savoury treats with endless tea and coffee available also. Prosecco is available too upon request. Various themed events take place throughout the term and can be found on their web page.

A focus on quality and fine attention to detail in the preparation and presentation of fine dishes makes Kings stand out from the crowd. As a training restaurant, diners also benefit from wallet-friendly prices. You will find it hard to find equal value and quality elsewhere.
