FOUR people have died in Sussex from Coronavirus in the last 24 hours, all at our local NHS Trust.
NHS England figures show 158 people had died in hospital at the East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust as of 5pm on Monday.
That was an increase of four compared to Sunday, when there were 154.
The victims were among 5,134 deaths recorded across the South East.
Daily death counts are revised each day, with each case backdated to the actual date of death.
There is mounting pressure on hospitals, with growing numbers being admitted each day.
The fastest growth is being seen in London and the South East, where the new coronavirus variant is believed to be behind a rise in cases.
Normally the UK would expect to see about 1,000 new respiratory-related admissions a day in total at this time of year.
It is already close to double that for Covid alone.
